Christmas Letter, 2004

Dearest Family and Friends,

Thanks for dropping by our web page. We decided that instead of supporting the postal service and wasting time and money on paper and stamps we would communicate to you this year through our website in place of sending out the traditional Christmas letter. Since we are STILL trying to send off thank you notes to all of you who attended our wedding and blessed our lives with such beautiful gifts, this option appealed to us greatly.

As Christmas letters are a time to catch up friends and family on our lives we will do our best to adequately cover the highlights of the past year.

On January 30, 2004, we took a trip down to Silver Creek Falls where we hiked through the woods to stand at the top of a waterfall, and J.R. asked Jen to marry him (you all know what her answer was). For the next six months, we tried to keep up with school and work as we made our plans for our much-anticipated wedding day.

On June 12, 2004 Jen graduated from SPU with her bachelor of arts. She majored in Educational Ministries and minored in Psychology. Jen and J.R. agree that it is wonderful to be through with school, (at least for the time being).

The next weekend, on June 19, 2004, we were married at First Baptist Church in Astoria, OR on a glorious sunny day. We spent the next week in Vancouver Canada at Thistledown, an amazing bed and breakfast which we highly recommend. We saw the sites, ate great food and walked through many gardens. It was the perfect way to recuperate from the stress of the previous months. When we came back we set up house for a few days and then went back to work. Jen started her new job as a full time Student Financial Services Representative at SPU and our life together in reality began.

September 26, 2004 we were blessed with a new nephew, Cole Michael Wheeler. At the earliest opportunity we made the long drive to Salem so that we could hold him for ourselves. As we write this letter, we are looking forward to spending Christmas in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with Jen’s mom and step dad, where we are virtually guaranteed a white Christmas.

We have much to look forward to this coming year as Jen’s dad will be moving to Seattle and Addie and Bill will be having a baby. We hope that Tim and Jeni will follow their example soon. We love babies, but we are enjoying our time alone, so we think that the best solution is for everyone else to have babies for us to enjoy and love on.

Thanks so much to all of you for the love and support you have given us these last few months. We love each of you, and hope that your holidays are filled with happiness, warmth, and the joy of our Lord Jesus.

Love,

J.R. & Jen Willett
